So neat to hear a deer drive going on and you do have deer come by you.. Most times you just hear the drivers yelling YEA...........A!!YEA............A! gee wonder why they don't use whistle.. That really would rattle the deer..

I have seen buck just right in front of the drivers .....That why I didn't shoot, skoot back between two drivers and they didn't even know it!!!!Funny!!!!

Could be dangerous if you have those nuts throw lead and don't think.... However hopefully everyone of you have particpated as a driver and a shooter and even hope you enjoyed other people putting on drives... It truly a part of deer hunting that everyone needs to experinece!!!!

I've never been involved in a deer drive... If people even have them around here I never heard of it... Now I have known of people shooting deer that someone else "spooked" while stalking, but that wasn't done of purpose.

I really mis sthe days of our 2 man Deer drives with just me and Dad. It was always fun, challenging, and we had a good bit of success as we both pretty much know the Deer's chosen paths if they were jumped. ;) :D

99er I too have done that with my son... We also knew just where they were going to run too and we did well...
After Christmas....her in pa the flintlock season starts as well as the continued archery for deer... That is the best way to get a few deer with flintlock or bow is to get a bunch of hunters together and put on drives... Deer have been pushed.. To sit against a tree all day with a flintlock and or bow that time of the year truly can be just a waste of time.... Nice when someone connects with the flinter or a bow after Christmas.. Ah that the time to hang a deer in a tree in the backyard for a week and let it cure too!!!unless a blizzard hits and you bet to get a cutting right away.. LOL

Why I wonder why all the people on here from communting area of their states don't have an annual NHUNTING after Christmas Flintlock and Archery deer drive. LOL You could all meet in let say....one of the PGL near everyone... Like Game Lands 210 or 211 Stoney Creek or Clarks Valley or Gretna, Franklintown, York, or Rossville York, Ski Round Top York.. etc etc etc.. Could do that on the last Saturday of the flint archery season.

I've never been part of a real deer drive, we dont do them out here.
The closest I've been part of is a couple of us hunting down a ridge with a guy posted at the bottom to catch any deer sneaking ahead of us.

That's a drive Jamie. Before I moved from Wis. I was the drive boss in our hunting group. I lived in the area so I did alot of scouting looking for new drives and such. Another thing we did was practice drives. The whole gang would come up for a weekend in Oct. and we had a hunt we called Grouse-O-Rama We would practice the new drives and shoot grouse instead of deer. That way everyone got familiar with the woods and less confusion deer season. We had a big group also. 15-30 hunters. With that many it was very important to be organized. We moved alot of deer.
