I do hunt hard when I hunt predators or small game.. Just a lot of time walking or on your feet with all the equipment on your back and shoulder causes CRAMPS riding from Point A to Point B or when I get home and sit on the couch... Feels like someone took a dagger and stabbed me in the thigh or calf.. Takes 60 seconds for it to go away but I have to take a Tylenol or what ever the over the counter drug that is equal to it.. Tylenol is good because you don't have to take it with food...Bad thing from the time you pop that tylenol until it takes effect that cramp is painful...When I hunt out of town and stay at cabins and such...I found a liquid adult tylenol... I keep that right by my sleeping bag or rack or bunk bed..Over the years I heard that eating bananas are a good thing for leg cramps... Hopefully all of you at one time or another have experienced these cramps that occur from long periods of being on your feet or walking over logs, rocks, etc.. I never got them when I was younger so it's somehthing for you young guys to hope you never get as your body starts to get older.. Anyway when that day comes from hunting hard just remember TYLENOL to relieve those cramps or cramp!!!!! However it going to take 60 seconds so relief is on the way..

For what it's worth ...

As I said before, I'v stopped taking all of the meds I was on except for one and it's to help control Summertime (May to September) Asthma that I have. After visiting the breeder where I'm getting my Airedale pup from, starting last Saturday, I started taking 1200mg Fish Oil pills daily.

He told the story that his folks started giving Fish Oil to their older (~12yr old) Airedale that was having some Arthritis problems. He said not only did the Fish Oil help reduce the Arthritis symptoms it had to nearly nothing, it also seemed to totally cure the Asthma that the Airedale had, so much so that they no longer give it any Asthma meds. I figgured hell if it's good enough for an Airedale it couldn't hurt me but so much. :D

I haven't been taking it long enough yet to see any effects on the Asthma (which nomally disapears after the 1st real cold snap anyways), but it seems to have started to reduce some of my muscle aches and foot cramps that I had for the last year or so. The breeder guy swears by it and now gives fish oil to their Airedales once they are about a year old. He has been giving Zara's mom a double dose since she was pregnant and nursing the youngens. He said he would cut it back to a regular dose once the pups are completely weaned (this week).

Hell, meybe ol 99er will end up with a shiney Black and Tan coat too !!

That Bag Balm is common here. I have a tin of it in my medicine cabinet in fact... It's some seriously good stuff...and literally every welder, farmer, and rancher in this area carries it in his truck for burns, chapped skin, and such. It is the best stuff going for burns...seriously.

UB, with the "physical problems" I have any more, cramps are a common thing for me...and they can get DAMN BAD... But, if I eat a banana a day, I don't have them very often... Also, when we go fishing or such, I often just get a bottle of Gatorade to drink instead of a soda or water...and this helps too.

But, for those times when a cramp wakes me up in the middle of the night, or just hits me suddenly, I keep some of these on hand. I order them by the case. The state gave them to us when we were working, and they helped prevent cramps....... This is seriously good stuff for when you are having a muscle cramp. I keep a few packets on the table by the bed, and a few packets in the truck. I even have this link bookmarked so I can order it when I start running low.... http://www.sharpesaf...lay.php3?ID=209

Just trying to help by offering advice on things I have already had to deal with.

We had similar to bag balm over here and that was the fastest healing stuff you could get but only available to farmers.............I reckon my exhaustion is due to smoking too many cigarettes while waiting for sumthin to turn up to shoot

Very easy to get tired hunting these parts, and cramps at the end of the day are almost a part of the hunt any more. LOL If a walk too far in fairly deep snow I'll start to cramp up also. Ussually about 1 1/2 miles from the truck.

Found this new pill with Quinine in it. Hylands Leg Cramps with Quinine. Not only for leg cramps but all kinds of body pains, even back pain. I tried after two exhausting hunts and it works!!!! I found it in a Rite Aid drug store with all the other over the counter pain relievers etc..

Hey!!!!Tonic water with Quinine in it works for leg cramps....You can get it diffrent ways to Schweeps Bitter Lemon or Canada Dry Bitter Lemon or just plain ole flavored store name Tonic Water...I have been using it when I hunt hard and I have not had any leg cramps!!!!!The Bitter Lemon is loaded with calories but not the Tonic water...Stuff ain't half bad tasting either!!!!!!Quinine......The over the counter juice that stops pain........

No wonder that old coot in the Schweeps commercial use to drink it when he was sailing his boat... You know he use to say something like "SCHWEPAFESENT!!!!"

I use to be Jim TV so I remember all the commercials!!!!!!

Even though our esteemed Dr. Denard has spoken; I can think of a few other "antidotes to a serious viagra bite" ... Blondes, Brunettes, and hell even toss in a Redhead or two fer good measure.

What cracks me up about the Viagra commercial is that they say..."If you maintain an errection for 5 hours to contact your doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Can you imagine what that must feel like ........5 hours......that something wants to rip out of your skin!!!!!Dang.....Maybe if you pour the Tonic Water with the Quinine on it you won't have to contact the doctor!!!????
