Everytime I go to a different farm to chucks I have been seeing a lot of whitetail fawn...Funny some are quite large others look like they were just born last week...Looks like the coyotes are not on these farms for sure..
However they have trapped a few black bear close to these areas...As you know it's not only the coyotes that kill fawn it's also bear.. Why they just go and crush their skulls with one bite..

UB,

Surprisingly I'm seeing a lot more Deer so far this year back and forth to work. Where I hunt, my hunting bud is seeing more than last year as well. Meybe they came down off the mountains this past winter and decided to stick around a while !! LOL :D

I would have thought our 4+ft or so of snow would have been hard on them since we dont normally get anywhere near that anmount, but it looks like it didn't hurt them at all.

Groundhog hunting around these parts this year thou is poor at best. I suspect our harst winter was actually harder on them than on deer (perhaps my suffication theory with melted snow/ice might have some merit). That coupled with all of our supper hot/dry weather most of this spring/summer ... it just hasn't been a good year. Once the weather cools off a bit, I'll hit it again to get some practice in with my Deer rifles. ;) :D
