More and more friends and acquantances are approaching me and telling me that someone stole their trailcam or their commercial tree stand....Now the person that would do this is not ethical sportperson for sure!!!
Wow....I see the treestands all the time when I am in the woods... I say to myself. "oh someones treestand?" Then continue on my own outdoor mission...
Seems to me when people see someone elses things they think they own it...Could be a $9.95 leg hold trap...A $250.00 trailcam or a $150.00 treestand?
My concerns are this....Poor souls.......Kids.....to be specific....They play in the woodlots all the time...This is great...I like this....However the stealing of treestands and trailcams is getting so much out of hand that...Victims of the thief.....Next time they put the replacement treestand out or a replacement trailcam...They just might bobby trap it... So here comes that kid that plays in the woods...He see a commercial treestand and says to himself" I think I will cimb it and see how it looks up there?" He does and it's now bobby trapped by the person who placed it there...The kid gets hurt or maybe even killed...See kind of like the Ping Pong Effect...Someone becomes a victim...They do something because someone stole from them but who comes along and the person is just some kid playing in the woods and wants to climb a ladder.
Trailcams? what does a person have to do...Have two trailcams? One to take pictures of the wildlife. The others to take pictures of the wise guy who is caught on the other trailcam stealing the camera..
I do not own any trailcams nor treestands. However if I was going to put a trailcam out there...I might get the one that comes with two cameras in a pack??????????
