I attempted to go get in some groundhog scounting and was looking to possibly pop a few blackbirds or crows with the 22-hornet, basically just wanted to get me and Nana (my Airedale) out some.

Boy that was a joke, I thought we'd beat the coming weather front and winds, but we didn't.

The only thing we got accomplished was to save one of my Farmers from having to chase down his cattle this afternoon/tonight as we found an aluminum gate between he and his neighbor open and flapping in the wind as a result of a broken chain (probably due to it being worn out and it finally gave out with all of today's wind). :D

Luckily, none of his cattle had gotten out yet. And thou I couldn't track the Farmer down, I was able to call his son who thanked me profusely for finding it and temporarily fixing it before any of their cattle did get out !!

We currently have around 25 to 35mph winds here, with gusts up to 45/50mph !! :o

I'm as ready as I can get for this coming weekend ... other than possibly the July 4th weekend, this weekend a lot of hay will get whacked in this neck of the woods. ;) :D

Let's see I got ...
1. the 22-hornet dialed in and cleaned
2. the AC recharged in STAYPUT
3. and I even got my "summertime" hair cut

Since there are a few fields (more than normal due to our wet winter) that have been made already, Friday after work is gunna be just a "gas and go" !! :D

One of my Groundhog Farmers called tonight gave me a lotta good news ...
Seemed he's discovered part of the cause for my lack of Groundhog sightings on his property ... he saw a Yote. :D

The even better news, he got me another ~250ac farm to hunt that's overrun with Groundhogs; he's helped the elderly lady owner trap a few around her buildings and she wants rid of all the damn things !! :D

It's been a downright very poor Groundhog year for me so far. I just am not seeing many Groundhogs at all. I'm up to a whopping total of 4 (out of 5 shots). <_<

It's beeen drier than a bone here and things are burnt to a crisp. We did get a few storms that passed thru the last couple of days, meybe things will start to green back up a little if we continue to get a little more rain.
