Find out here......... Just type in your last name...and if you know of a specific ancestor, then type in the first name too...but it isn't necessary... Then pick either Union or Confederacy, and click "Submit Query"... There were a couple dozen men serving on both sides of this conflict, with my last name.

I know one of mine did, he served for the 62nd AL Vol Infantry. He was my great grandmother's father (he was in his 60's when she was born to her young mother). They recognized my granny, when she was living, as a Daughter of the Confederacy in the late 90's. More of his family did, but I don't know anything about the extended family, as did my granny's mother's side (that side really goes all out, visits the soldier graves and participates in reenactments.) For a while, they would send news bulletins and write ups about all of those people...I have the one with my granny's daddy in it somewhere in my closet.
Anyway, thanks for the link! Will check and see what the other's names are.

None for me since my ancestors came through Ellis Island in the late 1890's. My kin are from Austria...Slovakia now...
However my wife....Great Great Grandfather was in the Georgia Confederate Calvary...Based on Mongo's inquiry I think he was in the Georgia 1st Calvary?????
Now my grandson has both.... Relative...He's a decendent of General Thomas and now also W. P. Dunn Private in the Confederate calvary... Funny they both fought against each other at Chickamunga, Tenn..
Neat finally all these years and this happens all the time...Melting pot so to speak...North and South become one....
Thank you Mongojo for putting on this neat link...
