I was ask awhile back about what kind of lights we use when calling. The first time I went out we were useing a GE-4537 bulb. And I've been use one ever since. They are tuff last a long time.

I start with a old Q-Beam light. Remove the Q-Beam bulb and switch for they don't last very long due to the high heat.
I replace the wireing as well. I use HD A/C light core for the new wireing put in a new HD switch a long with the 4537 bulb. Place a coffe can over the end of the light. And use a Q-Beam red filter and We found over the years that the A/C plugs and wall shockits work the best they don't burn up or come unpluged. There we're done. You have a light that will last for a very long time. As you can see by the pics. these lights are due for some new duct tape and a coat of paint. Hope this helps, any question just ask.

Clint

When you hit the predator with that light..I am assuming that the light beam is not intense. Do you light up the entire predator with that or do you just see their eyes?

Here in the East (Pennsylvania) we have just recently been allowed to mount our light on the gun for shooting...
When we hit them with to much light they are sure to run away...
Now if we could just come up with the light intensity that will not scare them away...Hitting them with the white light is out for sure...Red that buys us time but all we see is the eyes.. Yellow same if you hit them with the full beam it's over.
Now if you hit them with the bottom of the beam of the white light..You can light up the entire predator without scaring them...However you have to shoot the white light over the horizon and then drop it down ever so slow to light up the predator with the bottom of the light beam...Now some hunters do it as a team...The caller is the light man and the shooter has a signal..the caller drops the light beam from the horizon and illuminates the predatotr and the shooter takes the shot..
However so much to learn and know..Like if the light on your head is red (your shield) your shooting light also best be red to. If you hit them with the white shooting light both you and the fox are blinded and they take off. The shooter has a glare in their eyes..
Clint that is a nice shooting seat you got there too....Thanks for sharing your set up with us back here in the overpopulated East. Um wish I lived in Texas or maybe the South? Use to live there along time ago.

Sir the bulb that we use is only 200,000 CP and you put the red filter on it that drop the briteness down. So even on a moon less night you can keep it on the coyote and under 100 yards or so you will see the body. Far than that you will see the eyes for a long way. I've watched them come from a 1/4 of a mile or so with just the eyes in open country. I really like this type of bulb it has worked for me for along time. It will look something like this. This is a very close shot here under 40 yards or so. We have found that you really don't need 2-3 mil. CP it does more bad than good for us any way. Their eyes will glow like roman candles with just a small amount of light.

Hope this helps. Anymore questions just ask away.

Thats Awesome Clint!!! Thanks for showing us that...Now that looks like a light set up that us Easterners would do well with...Like how nice the predator is let up... Why you would not even need something behind the bead of your shotgun to light that up to shoot at that predator...
Neat you guys got it down to a science...Just the right everything....Know what wiring to use and bulb......Outstanding...
