Based on your Deer hunting this year, what do you plan to change next year (if anything) ??

Mainly try to not be laid up with surgery!
Actually, not very much. The trail patterns are pretty well established. I may do a bit more with nutrition before the season, though.

With any kind of luck, get that hunting lease that I have been trying to get, so that a crippled up old fat guy can get out and do a little deer hunting again.

More work with my rifle. Maybe a new rifle. I will see what else is in store for me.

Good luck with the lease Mongo.
Just remember ... those "pool nooddle thingy's" (with a cut down the middle to fit over the window glass) can be cut to lenght to fit any size truck window. Might also want to apply a little camo duct tape (length-wise) or break-out the flat black spray paint since they come in awfully bright colors ... at least that's wut I'v been told !! LMAO
I'm still mulling over my possible changes for next year. I had originally planned to switch to using my 270 Browning next year, but it's gunna be right damn difficult to hang up the 243 m99, based on how well it did this year.
Besides, it may also be right damn difficult to pry away my 270 Browning (now nicknamed "hammering hank") from my hunting bud after letting him borrow it this year. I used to think composite stocks sucked bigtime, but the Bell & Carlson stock on the 270 is making me a "believer".

Tell you what, there was a time in my mis-spent youth when I was not at all a fan of, "those Mattel-lookin' plas-teek stocks"... But, in the years since, I have "seen the light", and have actually bought and put synthetic stocks on 2 of my rifles...and even bought 3 more rifles (5, if you count air rifles too) that came with synthetic stocks to begin with... And if I were still able to get out and call predators I would have already changed out the wood stocks for synthetic on my "calling shotgun"... So, I guess I'm a convert.

More reloading......mainly to reload some of my deer guns and use lighter grain bullets for chucks and coyotes and in reverse....Reload some of my chuck and coyote guns with heavier bullets so they can kill deer.
then shoot the barrels out of them by shooting so much at the range I have to buy new guns!!!!

Uncle Buck. Thats a good plan.
For myself. I think for deer hunting I'll do everything the same. Except, I'll try another state. lol

Well we have 115 acres. We're going to cut pine trees and hopefully provide better bedding for next year.
Also check some spots out on public land for bow hunting. Not alot of deer but saw some impressive buck sign.In rifle the deer there get pushed too far back in but archery we might get a crack at them.
