UB,

I may well end up giving these lights some consideration, once these folks get their act together a bit more ...

http://www.kcshounds...ator_lights.php

Some interesting Specs ...
•L.E.D.
•3 Settings -- Walk Light, Low and High
•The Predator comes with the charging port show above and lanyard.
•Options (sold separately): Car Charger, Colored Pop Covers, Scope Mounts for Rifles and Barrel Mounts for Shotguns
•Light weight -- The Predator only weighs 6 Ounces
•Compact -- It is so compact that you can put the Predator in your pants pocket
•Waterproof

•Lithium Ion Battery
•Approximately 20 hour burn time on low and approximately 4 hours on high
•Low battery indicator -- when the battery is down to 20% life left then the Predator will automatically switch over to the walk light -- you can switch it back to high or low. The automatic switch to walk light is nothing more than a warning
•100,000 hour L.E.D. life and 500 charges on the battery
•Charging indicator -- when you plug in the Predator, the walk light will flash 5 times to let you know that it is taking a charge
•Charging time is approximately 8 hours
•1 year standard electronics warranty

Model99er good reading on the light.....Predators in different states act different....Notice they talk about killing 77 coyotes in Texas without any problems..... Here in the East you hit any predator with a white light and they are going to run away...$269.00 is a lot of money to invest to find out that the light scares away predators just like a white LED light sold by the cash register at a Home Depot Store...

Just the other night I called in a coyote and was using a red lens Remingtion head light with LED white and a red lens drop cover...Using the red lens cover the coyote came in and before I could get the shotgun up to shoot it at 30 yards it was gone......

When a predator comes in and they start to blink at you. That does not mean they like you and they are winking at you. LOL LOL....It means that your hurting their eyes....

I did not look at each post that was for this new light to see where the hunters were from....If they are using this light in say Texas then you can hit the coyotes with light longer then back here in Virginia and Pennsylvania.
I wish that I would have killed every coyotes that took off at night when I have hit it with the red lens light....
I do prefer to hunt our Eastern Coyotes in the daytime because they are so light shy!!!!!!!!

Anyway that was good reading....I did learn a few things....However $269.00 would make me shy away from this light since I do 99% of my hunting in the East.

A book can be written alone on how to remain Stealth when hunting with lights at night time.....One thing most of us Pa Predator Hunters use now is a hood on our head lights that pushes the red lens circle more out in front of us so we can hide....The other night.....I wish I would have had the head light on that has the hood on it...I did not and it was apparent that the red lens light I had on my head spooked the coyote before I could even fire the Benelli.

UB,

I think you know me well enough by now that I hain't gunna lay down that much jack on a light !! :D

Thou I can't seem to find it now, I while back I started a thread to get everyone's opinion as wut would be their "perfect scope".

I'll do a "quickie" now on wut my perfect Predator light would be ...

1. Must be good to 150yards using a red lens (I want to be able to make out the critter's ears).
2. Rechargeable without needing to have to remove batteries or a power pack.
3. A "battery charge" will last a minimum of 8hrs at the high (150yd) setting.
4. Lightweight & waterproof.
5. Universal Quick-Release rubber-coated mounts, to permit mounting it under a forearm of most rifles.
6. Flat Bottom so that it can sit on the ground or on a flat surface
7. Telescoping "leg(s)or plate" on the front, so that it's beam can be raised or lowered when it's sitting.
8. Lifetime limited warranty.
9. At a price Ole 99er's willin to spend ... under $125 smackers !!
