The Pa Game Commission closes all of the gates on the PGL after the flintlock season.....However there is still plenty of good hunting going on....Rabbit I think Grouse, fox, coyotes, bobcat, coon....Wish they would leave the gates open so I could drive back real far and be able to hunt the coyotes on the ridges. Once you walk in from the regular parking lot to a place deep into the woods...The predator know you are a coming and it's all over...
Do you think the Pa Game Commssion should let the gates open since for example fur takers license sales are also paying Pa Game Commission personel wages?

Should Pa Hunters be allowed to use Center Fire semiautomatic rifles and hand guns for hunting? You do know that we are suppose to be able to use rimfire semiautomatic rifles and pistols soon... There is a HB that I think is approved and we are just waiting for the days to go by when it becomes a game law.
I see many a 10/22 Ruger being purchased soon in Pa.... I have a Win Mode 270 that will be nice to use for squirrel....Also a Ruger Mark 111 hunter.....
however I always wanted to buy an AR 15 223 for coyote hunting...Wow that would be nice to use that with Fragment type(safer) HP bullets for predators in Pa.

Uncle Buck,

I just got off the phone with Game Comm. lawyer and he is not aware of any Hb. or any legislation that has passed like that. In fact he asked me if I found any thing out to call him. The only Bill he was aware of was a bill introduced back in Feb. to allow the use of semi-autos for Fox, Coyote, and Groundhogs and that didn't go anywhere. If you find anymore out please let me know, I was hoping you were right.

Thanks,
Bythebook ;)

Right now it only pertains to RIMFIRE semiautomatics.....I was hoping they would include center fires too but this HB only pertains to rimfire rifles and pistols...

That is what I asked him UB was about rimfire semi-autos for small game and that is what he told me. He did say it maybe but he had not heard anything about it. Him being the legal counsel for the game comm. I would think he should have heard about it if it had reached that far. Who knows!

I still hope your are right. BTBook

2D WMU... that would be in the Allegheny Mountains. I never realized that is where most of the deer was harvested. I always thought it was Potter County which is in the extreme North Central Tier of the state.

You know to expand a little and let semi auto's into predator hunting may help us against them gun ban freaks that say "what do you need an AR for", you can't hunt with it. :shifty:
