o Hotlinking
Images = Yes (just like Photobucket, etc)
Video or Flash = No, you must link to your Video, Audio, or Flash files
Ex: http://media.putfile.com/petaBS
Note: just use their copy button once you Video/Audio file is uploaded to copy the file in the "paste buffer" on your PC, and then select "edit/paste" to past it into your post.
o Also:
They give you your personal web-page (more like a notepad of sorts) by selecting "customize" on your login page. I'd suggest copying your links to it in the "homepage" text section to have them handy for future reference, especially the ones that you set to "public" so that others can view them !!
That is the nuts and bolts of how it works or is at least supposed to anyway.
Now for a little bad news: In order to delete a video, you must follow their instructions which I have copied below ...
1. You can only request the deletion of your own videos, or videos that violate our (their) tos (terms of service)
2. If the video is your own, you must make the request from the same computer/IP that you uploaded from.
3. Make your polite request at www.putfile.com/comments.php
The good news:
It does work well and you can change their player to various different screen resolutions when playing a video; when you repeat the playing of a video, it doesn't have to reload again like on some sites. Also, it's player supports all of the various video types that they permit you to upload ... few if any PCs have viewers that will support all of those video types.
Soooo, it seems to work well, but it sure is a pain to get your videos removed and if you don't want your videos possibly seen by anyone, this is NOT the place to put them !!
thanks and enjoy !!
