I use scent--away to wash my clothes...and I use a blocker...and also use a scent eliminator shampoo.

But...lol... I know folks who smoke while they hunt and still shoot a deer. So, if you aren't down-wind...wouldn't matter if you were born scent-free....they'd still smell you.

I never worried alot about "scent control" with deer. ...Now when calling predators I usually carried a couple of those little plastic bottles that camera film comes in with the snap on lid. I would have a wad of cotton in them soaked with skunk essence, and would just pop off the lid and set them out by where I set up. ... And my clothes, after they were washed, I would hang them outside for a day or so to "air" before wearing them to go calling.

Well, as far as "scent control", I haven't had to do much yet.

I do plan to stay "upwind" from Hemmy's "Turd Burner" as much as possible, iffen he ever gets the darn thang working !! ... lmao

Hands:

We never had so called "scent control" when I was young. We observed the obvious rules - no smoking on stand (and I smiled at the guy who did.He just proves the exception to the rule!) :D We did avoid using after shave lotion (if we shaved at all) We also made sure that no hair lotion was used. (Didn't you ever take the cap off on a warm day on stand?) We didn't use "deoderant" soaps and, avoided wearing anything that had been drycleaned recently. Certainly we never sprayed ourselves with anything. ( I saw once in a Cabela's catalog about fox urine. I would have passed up an 8 point buck before I would have sprayed fox piss on myself!) :D

LOL ... I have used a 55 gallon drum's worth of fox piss over the years while trapping.... and gotta say I agree with Gerald416 on this one.... Don't reckon I would "mist" myself with it either... LOL ...And 99er...I think something must be wrong with your computer cause it completely disbobulated your Happy Face....Damn thing looks stoned.

LoL..Gerald, that's pretty much the way I do it...and always have. But, when washing my camo, I use the scent-away....cause otherwise I'd be washing it in detergents that smell like "a woman"....lol. And, I always use some pretty fragrant shampoos so I'll smell all "girlyy"everyday, so, I use the scent away type hair shampoo on a hunt. Same with soap...cause I'm a "Carress or Dove" user, and they're pretty fragrant.

With the piss...I don't spray myself, but I do get the bottom soles of my huntin boots with em.

I knowed a guy that would spray himself down with skunk juice.......sometimes even when he wasn't hunting.

I think wind direction is the key.But I use the earth spray and try my best to stay scent free but that's almost impossible so it still comes back to wind direction.
